Taster

Nose: Aromas of dried fruits: raisins and figs, with lovely nutmeg and orange marmalade. Toffee fudge, with salted caramel chocolate. Divine!

Palate: Silky redcurrants, raisins, sultanas and dried figs. Cranberry sauce and maple syrup. Thick chewy toffee with Tiramisu showing, followed by strawberry jam and Assam tea. Lightly viscous.

Finish: Warming, with golden syrup and vanilla, ending with tart elderberries.

Comment: A delight of a dram – characterful, yet accessible to all too.

Taster

Nose: Full of Christmas spice, candied apple peel and orange zest. Incense, Christingle services. Lemon tartlets and choûx pastry with vanilla cream. Oiliness of linseed oil, then strawberry jam scones.

Palate: Big and rich with a creamy mouthfeel. Those Christmas spices are enhanced with cinnamon and clove. Loads of citrus.

Finish: Everything comes together with those spices and citrus. Lengthy and dries with oak tannins and vanilla.

Comment: A great whisky with aromatic layers. Easy with water, doesn’t need much.
