More grip than the first three. More of a sensation than an eruption of flavour.

Tasting Notes

Dave Broom

Taster

Nose: A wood in springtime: bark, moss and green leaves and a light floral underpinning along with rosemary oil. New car. Water makes it more dense. Coffee cake.

Palate: Discreet and soft with melon, peach, sweet persimmon. Dries towards the back where that mossy note reappears.

Finish: Tight oak.

Comment: More grip than the first three. More of a sensation than an eruption of flavour.

Score: 7.2

Taster

Nose: Fungal almost with a slight hot roast trout note. But there is also a delicate perfumed scent as well.

Palate: Balanced and complex. Has layers of sweetness with almost menthol.

Finish: Good mouth feel with a warming end.

Comment: A great engaging whisky, classic Japanese styling.
