Nose
Peat and oily smoke balanced with floral notes, like being in a blooming garden with an oily bonfire. Underneath are fruit cake, red apple, lemon peel, and a little hint of honey.
Palate
Light-medium bodied. More vegetal, mossy peat notes come first, like freshly turned earth. Beneath it, caramel, banana bread, poached pear, and hints of vanilla, clove, and nutmeg.
Finish
Medium. Mossy peat and a hint of apple pie.
Comment
Marries characteristics from both classic Speyside and peated whiskies that will please fans of both.
