A good, substantial bourbon.
12 Years Old
Standard (Distillery or blended)
Nose: Very emphatic rich, deep, cocoa aroma.
Palate: Firm. Slippery-smooth. Very toffeeish. Hard toffee. Nut toffee. Peanut brittle. A suggestion of blueberries, perhaps even passion-fruit. Slight spicy-sour rye character.
Finish: Rye-grain. Crisp and spicy.
Comment: A good, substantial bourbon.
Nose: Quite lean, dry and rye-accented. Appetising with light honey richness.
Palate: Feisty with good peppery attack. High-toned. Vibrant. Mellows slightly in the mouth with honey, red fruits.
Finish: Vivacious, crisp and peppery.
Comment: Outdoor/restorative stuff. Stick a bottle in your pocket and do a John Muir.
