Taster

Nose: Dusty, earthy, peppery spice with slightly BBQ singed maple syrup coated apple, balsamic red cherries and herbal rye. Chunky yet subtle oak adds structure and late cinnamon notes.

Palate: Chunks of grippy oak countered by juicy treacle and cherry fruit. Hints of herbal and spicy rye follow with rose petal marc, leather and a little astringency.

Finish: A little masked but displaying some lovely silky marzipan, dark chocolate and rose petal marc notes.

Comment: A great dram to finish the evening.

Taster

Nose: Oooh, a big, cask strength Bourbon, so we get lovely notes of Bovril, sweet cherry, freshly chopped oak and hints of dark chocolate mousse. Bring it on!

Palate: Well, this expression is extra flavourful. So many powerful notes, it could have run for President! Less spicy that I thought from the nose, it’s a good version of high ABV Bourbon.

Finish: A lovely finish that isn’t too overpowering, it works very well indeed.

Comment: A great whiskey here that I’d happily use in a classic cocktail.
