Another lovely Caol Ila that just lacks a little weight.

Tasting Notes

Taster

Nose: It's another pale and interesting peaty one! Bog myrtle, marram grass and cod liver oil.Very similar to No4. Cooking oysters and bacon, wet bamboo and salty with a slight elastoplast quality.

Palate: Soft and subtle with the peat in good balance. Intense fresh and distinctly salt-tinged.

Finish: Hot and lightly grassy.

Comment: Another lovely Caol Ila that just lacks a little weight.

Score: 7.4

Taster

Nose: Woollens after a woodfire,a little grapey and just a suggestion of grass lands. Has tones of a first aid kit.

Palate: The peat rolls into a salty edge. But seems a little thin, does not live up to the nose.

Finish: Short and engaging.

Comment: Offers something different to the distillery bottling that is well worth investigating.
