Nose

First, wood polish and cherries — there’s a real sticky sweetness here. It’s balanced by a sharpness, a good acidity in the form of mandarin oranges.

Palate

Really well rounded: there’s fruit, spice, acidity, and bitterness all in the right ratios. Deep red fruits take centre stage, before nutmeg and walnuts, warm honey, and those oranges again.

Finish

Fairly lengthy with a touch of anise like sweetness towards the end.

A thoroughly enjoyable and extremely well-balanced whisky.
