Tasting Notes

Dave Broom

Taster

Nose: Full and lightly nutty, then a heavy floral fragrance, spiced bun, stewed peaches, apricot stone and then an oily/fruity mix.

Palate: Concentrated semi-caramelised fruits, cocoa butter, then ground nutmeg. Reminds you of waxed fruit. Water helps to smooth things.

Finish: Fruit smoothie.

Comment: A slightly odd melange of flavours and textures...but it works.

Score: 8

Taster

Nose: Mouth-watering strawberries, Chewitts and lime juice, hot hay and a little dusty, mustiness. Blossom. Real rope, such as is found on Tall Ships. Liquorice.

Palate: Lots of fruit, with strawberries and peaches particularly, squished over an oaky background.

Finish: That lingering, grippy oak.

Comment: Complex and changeable in the glass. Not only very tasty, but interesting.
