Nose
Tainted mildly by sulphur. Fruitcake rich, nonetheless, and pretty sweet despite the drier oaky tones.
Palate
Big, irrespective of the strength. Quite peppery, smoky and enticingly sweet with hickory? A gently salty edge with subtle build up of malty complexity.
Finish
Lingering peat. Vanilla oak guarantees a soft finale than might be expected.
Comment
A genuinely delightful malt that shows great charisma beyond the so-so nose.
