Tasting Notes

Taster

Nose: Crème caramel, hints of old leather and some light coffee notes and bung cloth.\n

Palate: A bitter palate which doesn’t give a huge amount to the liquid. There are some sandlewood notes which are often associated with whiskies from the 70s and 80s, but aside from this, it doesn’t give a lot.\n

Finish: Short, sweet and lacking in any real depth or body.\n

Comment: Flighty, not fighty, this whisky isn’t Champions League. It’s Sunday League.

Score: 7.5

Taster

Nose: Youthful and crisp with barley, light honey and a touch of subtly toasted vanilla oak. With time perfumed white fruit, white liquorice and ginger root appears.

Palate: Deep and barley with vanilla oak, fleshy apricot, herbs and crisp, granity citrus. Not hugely complex but it has a lovely freshness and intensity.\n

Finish: A continuation of the palate. Long, fresh and granity with some gently bitter tannins.\n

Comment: A lovely, crisp and fresh young Highland malt. Just the dram to revive a \ntired palate.
