Taster
Nose: Fresh, ripe strawberries at first, dissipating quickly to reveal tarte tatin and caramel cake. Milk chocolate, sultanas, and mixed citrus peels. Fresh orange juice, too.
Palate: Medium-full. Milk chocolate, vanilla cream and toffee pieces, then blackberry pie, peanut, and tart dried barberries. Some lime candies, too.
Finish: Medium. The tart fruit fades and the milk chocolate reasserts itself.
Comment: Dessert fit for a late-summer garden party.

Taster
Nose: Caramel cookie, leaning toward stroopwafel, and a hint of suntan lotion. White peach and macadamia nut. Hints of clove and nutmeg, orange marmalade, light vanilla custard, and toffee apple.
Palate: Light-medium bodied. Caramel sauce-coated apple slices. Thick-cut orange marmalade on lightly toasted bread. A touch of tamarind and black pepper, with a hint of well-stewed black tea.
Finish: Long. Sweetened black tea swells, and the macadamia nut returns.
Comment: I like the malt character, which holds its own against the cask.
Score: 8.0
