Taster

Nose: Young. Lightly nutty with hints of cream, pear/cooking apple. Sherberty with some pine needle. With water a burnt note. Raisin bread.

Palate: Smooth and fairly sweet. Vanilla, lemon and currant. Clean and gentle.

Finish: Young, green. Pencil shavings.

Comment: Dangos cyntaf eithriadol o dda gan y chwisgi (ifanc iawn) yma. Un i'w wylio, yn sicr. As they say in Wales.

Taster

Nose: Sweet. Herbal, vegetal, notes, but also meaty yeastiness. Some madeira wineyness.

Palate: Dense body. Rye-like mintiness. Sweet and vegetal again. Flavours reminiscent of snow peas.

Finish: Spicy. Hint of ginger. Warming, soothing.

Comment: The process is unusual, and so are the resultant flavours, but this is a very drinkable whisky in its own right. I was a sceptic, but no longer.
