Taster

Nose: Hello peat, old friend. Charcoal, creosote and hot chillies with lemon and cut grass. Pencil shavings come to play; especially the graphite over the wood.

Palate: A pleasing plastic-y texture. Freshly treated fences and charcoal. Water brings out sweet, salty and spicy notes… vanilla, caramel, sea salt, black pepper and soapy clove.

Finish: Bonfire dies out becoming delicately sweet. Milk chocolate peanuts and milk left after granola cereal.

Comment: If that doesn’t put a rocket up you, what will?!

Taster

Nose: Brooding peat. Smoked salmon and kippers. Coal ash. Stack of fruit; redcurrant, grapefruit, pineapple and stewed apples, with brown sugar. Golden syrup and lime juice.

Palate: Bright, sweet balanced with intensely dry peat. Slightly cloying in the mouth. The fruitiness shows with water – pears and pineapple. The sea, with brine and moss.

Finish: Salty, peppery, with lemon and barley. Lingering earthy, Assam and vegetal notes.

Comment: A brilliant, honest, elemental and coastal peated whisky. Warms the heart.
