Nose: Pungent. Acetone, linseed oil/putty, olive oil, canvas, squid ink even apple. Briny (scallop shell, fishmonger) Quite oaky.

Palate: Mouth-coating and smooth. Beeswax, lanolin, pepper, dry smoke. Needs time.

Finish: Rich and tight.

Comment: Has all of Port Ellen's great length, oiliness (and reserve).

Nose: Sea salt, floor polish, mild antiseptic, and subtle oak.

Palate: Waxy, full, with pepper and light smoke.

Finish: Long and dry, sea-spray.

Comment: Very well balanced, this expression has enjoyed a great relationship with its cask.
