Nose: Apple sours. This is a dram which is hiding, but for what reason? I don’t know. It’s sweet and inviting, but could be bolder.\n
Palate: A palate of whipped cream, brandy butter and ginger ale, backed with a slight hint of bitter smoke and oak dryness. Vanilla is there, but masked by the aforementioned flavours.\n
Finish: Delicate smoke and oak, dry and lingering.\n
Comment: A Jack of all trades whisky.
Score: 7.9
Taster
Nose: Estery, summery and aromatic with pineapple, banana and fresh barley. Creamy American oak mingles with some tighter grainier oak tannins. Hints of grass and lime.
Palate: A little weak and underpowered, but pleasantly citric with lime, barley and vanilla. Again, there’s some taught, grainy tannins on the middle. \n
Finish: Crisp, slightly alcoholic with lingering barley and grass. \n
Comment: Lovely aromas, but the palate lacks the promise or complexity of the nose. Definitely a work in progress.
Score: 8.2
