ABV 45%
A wonderfully mad mix of things, but certainly one to put with spicy food and see what happens.

Nose: Very gentle and delicate, lemon drizzle cake and vanilla custard. Almonds in ham, orange segments coated in dark chocolate with crushed hazelnuts.
Palate: Full-on tooth-meltingly sugar laden, candy-coated raisins, almonds and dried fruit pieces. Those Belgian chocolate seashells. Hints of wood tannins, black tea and a marmalade edge.
Finish: Long with some lovely sweet spicy kicks from chilli honey.
Comment: A wonderfully mad mix of things, but certainly one to put with spicy food and see what happens.

Taster
Nose: Refreshingly light and citrussy, like being thrown head first into a pool of lemon peel, blood oranges and peaches with just a hint of vanilla and oak.
Palate: Incredibly sweet with more blood orange and juicy peach like an alcoholic orange Fanta, but with enough oak and baking spice – clove, anise, cinnamon, liquorice – to ensure it stays rooted.
Finish: Blood orange juice, with just a little bitter pith.
Comment: It’s weird, but I definitely like it. Can I try it again?
Score: 8
