Taster

Nose: Floral – a bowl of potpourri. Roses, sweet peas, blossom… unusual, but I love it. Tropical fruit dances in the background.

Palate: A fantastically light drop. Floral aromatics dominate, but sit with this and a nutty core of flaked almonds, whole hazelnuts and pecans comes through.

Finish: The milk in your bowl once you’ve finished some Jordan’s Nutty Country Crisp, with orange oils on top.

Comment: Unexpected, but great. The lightness of touch and florality are intriguing. Avoid adding water – it dulls the nuances.

Taster

Nose: Blimey, a tropical cocktail! Lashings of mango and pineapple. Peel, bananas. Maple syrup. Perry. Needs time for fruit to ascend, revealing vanilla, digestive biscuits. Dried apricots and sultanas.

Palate: Not as fruity as I suspected; more subtle and charming. Dried apricots and sultanas, a lovely maltiness, green apples, pears, nutmeg, cloves, honey and green tea.

Finish: Black tea, nutmeg, vibrant wood spice and then heated honey.

Comment: A mix-tape of a whisky, characterful and an easy-drinker.
