The rye spice is tempered by grain. Dry leathery note is a great foil to the sweeter characters.

Nose: Fruity, with orange ice lolly character, brass plates, a riding school tack room, raspberries and dried apricots on vanilla ice cream with toffee sauce. Masala chai too.
Palate: Rye bread. Raisin, cherry and sultana fruit cake with butter. Drying yet sweet cocoa nibs, leather and tobacco spices.
Finish: Bitter dark chocolate, chopped hazelnuts and powdered ginger with a box of Sun Maid raisins.
Comment: The rye spice is tempered by grain. Dry leathery note is a great foil to the sweeter characters.

Taster
Nose: Notable herbal quality about this – fennel, sage and peppermint. Wholemeal toast with butter and jam. Barley sugar, geraniums and green tomatoes, before light, fresh fruits take over.
Palate: Pleasing texture, and rather savoury. The toast is now burnt, but the jam remains. Surprisingly malty and hoppy. Baked apples, vanilla. Sage and fennel.
Finish: Medium length, chewy, with fresh apples and herbs finally returning.
Comment: An unusual and attractive set of flavours make for a characterful drink.
Score: 8.6
