This little-known malt almost always surprises me with its robust flavours.
Rare Malts Selection
1972, Aged 27 Years
Nose: Big. Very perfumy. Incense, sandalwood. Malt and vanilla.
Palate: Very assertive. Intense. Sugary. Nutty. Perfumy. Lots of depth.
Finish: Powerful. Very spicy indeed. Peppery. Gunpowder tea.
Comment: This little-known malt almost always surprises me with its robust flavours.
Nose: A feather-light, deft aroma boasting a subtle but curious guava fruitiness.
Palate: A composed and delicious maltiness gains hold for the most intense of crescendos. The climax is almost erotic.
Finish: A long, oak-rich afterglow.
Comment: Do whiskies get any sexier than this? An essay in balance and complexity for its age that teases and tantalises the taste buds mercilessly. Outstanding: truly awesome!!
