Nose

Plum wine, cherry brandy, and treacle tart. Pear and blackberry pie with a dusting of cinnamon and nutmeg. A bowl of roasted pecans, walnuts and hazelnuts, with raisins and candied ginger pieces.

Palate

Full. Unctuous, with distinctive hazelnut and plum notes. Wholemeal rye bread and toffee cake. Porridge with applesauce and chocolate pieces. Banana fritters dipped in golden syrup.

Finish

Long and sweet, on hazelnut and green apple, too.

Comment

Immensely indulgent and complex. Sherry-cask led but balanced.
