Taster

Nose: Dried ginger, brandy snap biscuits and a touch of smoked maple syrup. Some sweet fragrant Earl Grey tea lurks underneath.\n

Palate: A little watery for the strength, with caramel notes, some sweet tea and toasted almonds. \n

Finish: A pleasant toastiness develops further in, alongside some drying oak.\n

Comment: Not a star performer, but hints of something interesting in there, held back somewhat by hesitancy.

Score: 7.8

Taster

Nose: Edgy and slightly herbal with honey and a touch of sweet, almost grainy notes along with sultana and white grape. With time it becomes a little tropical in character. \n

Palate: Opens with a touch of coffee and again a slightly crisp grain-like note. Creamy toffee appears on the middle as the oak arrives. Pleasantly deep if a little straightforward.\n

Finish: Fabulously spicy, mouth-watering and juicy, which was a surprise! \n

Comment: I thought it was going to be a fairly simple grain whisky and then it sprang to life on the finish.
