Nose

Sour green apples again, more like sour chews this time with foam bananas, honeycomb and a hint of damp newspaper.

Palate

Intensely fruity and sherbety with raisins and dried apples, though it’s particularly drying. An earthy, damp dunnagey note pervades the edges.

Finish

Toffee chews, baking spices and over-baked cake with a dry, twiggy note.

Comment

The fruitiness is moreish, but it’s a shame the cask has assumed unwavering control.
