Nose: A lovely combination of vanilla pods, smoked wood, coconut macaroons, perfectly ripe banana and some punchy notes of ginger spice.
Palate: The ginger gets more intense here, like ginger snap biscuits, crème brûlée, a hint of amaretto and some smooth vanilla white chocolate chunks.
Finish: A medium-length finish, leaving a hint of sweetness, with the prickle of peppery heat.
Comment: A little bit of a dual personality here between the heat and the sweet.
Nose: Quite closed. Piney and almost hoppy, with grapefruit and varnish. Lily pollen and sap. Then semolina and pie crust. Pear drop and vanilla essence. Hair spray and bourbon biscuit. Root ginger.
Palate: Light bodied, but with a fair whack of heat. Sweet, spiritous and grainy, with more pear drop, ginger snap biscuit and some elderflower. Still quite hard to get at.
Finish: Hot, short and evaporates on the vanilla and pear drop.
Comment: Some solid flavours, but could do with more time to mellow out.
