Taster

Nose: Clean with a lightly scented quality,a touch of vanilla pod and spiced apple juice. Freshly baked cakes, polished oak and flaked almonds. Moves into medlar, green banana and some oak.

Palate: Strangely anonymous to start though there's a sweet and mellow juiciness in the centre. Clean and buttery, but a lack of grip and mid-palate weight. Water kills it.

Finish: Cream with a hit of bitterness.

Comment: A little bit of a let-down after a superlative nose.

Score: 7.4

Taster

Nose: Perfumy.Floral and nutty. Tangerine. Fruit toffee. Hint of popcorn. Changes constantly. Enticing. Oak is well integrated. With a dash of water, releases fresh mint.

Palate: Smooth at first. With a good spicy dryness carrying along. Toffee again.

Finish: Dry, spicy but not hot. Lingers nicely. Brazil nuts.

Comment: A well balanced and characterful dram. The nose is really charming, the palate just a little restrained and stiff but give it time.
