Nose: Amber, sandalwood, and musk. Nectarine and fermenting fruits. Chestnut mushrooms in butter. Rancio. Milk chocolate, raisin, and salted pistachio. Candied citrus peels and coconut water.

Palate: Medium-full. Sweet and savoury, like beef cooked with plums and peaches. Nutmeg and maple syrup over waffles. Black tea tannin grip.

Finish: Medium, on pistachio, with a lingering savoury note.

Comment: A distinctive style all of its own.

Nose: Rich orange notes, barbequed peach, sea-salt dark chocolate, and a hint of menthol. Pecan brittle. A dusting of baking spices: cinnamon, nutmeg, and ginger. Crispy duck fat and fruity gravy.

Palate: Medium-full. Blackcurrant, peach, and a hint of caramelised pineapple. Gentle mentholic clove. Chai latte, and bitter coffee, like used grounds. Burnt ends of beef. A hint of smores.

Finish: Long, on coffee-flavoured dark chocolate and blackcurrant jam.

Comment: An intriguing profile and good balance.
