Nose: Olive oil, cooked agave, calendula tea, honey and golden syrup. Dried apricots and bark mulch. Stewed blackberries, raspberries and cranberries. Treacle tart and coffee cream chocolates.
Palate: Light-medium bodied. Very well integrated. Chewy chocolate-coated toffees, blackberry jam on buttered scones, and amaretto. Some sweet black tea, Cognac-like florals and orchard fruits stewed with lots of Muscovado sugar.
Finish: Medium, on Muscovado and tea.
Comment: Tea and toffee – what’s not to love?

Taster
Nose: Marzipan-enrobed Battenburg cake. Baked sponge and cinder toffee. Honeyed parsnips. Currants and chalky walnuts. Beeswax and a grassy rye-like note.
Palate: Almond frangipane, with fresh peach. Crème caramel. Oat crackers with heathery honey. A touch of tobacco smoke.
Finish: Medium, fading on chocolate-covered caramels and tea loaf.
Comment: Revealed a delightful sweetness on the palate. It would be good company for a cold evening.
Score: 8
