Nose: Warm syrup, drying tobacco leaves, sheepskin blankets, apples and raspberry juice, hot buttered toast, a little Vegemite tang and herbal cough sweets.
Palate: A sweet and sour vibe going on here with a splash of chilli heat too. A citrus\rzip, lemon rind and lime juice, then the oak brings sweet vanilla.
Finish: Dries with those oak notes.
Comment: Not a bad dram, a little water helps it reveal more on the palate.

Taster
Nose: Fairy Liquid and very resinous wood hit first, unusual notes to begin with, but things start to settle down, with malty wholemeal bread, Marischino cherries and vanilla pods. With water, it's into tangerine, blackcurrant and floral handsoap.
Palate: Quite hot at first, needs water to open up. Then it's into tangy citrus notes,\rmore blackcurrant and drying oak.
Finish: Woody, with a little citrus orange.
Comment: Quite a limited palate, but really pleasant enough.
Score: 7.9
