Dallas Dhu Historic Distillery (Closed 1983)
A big malt, but there are some flaws suggesting this has passed its best.
No age statement
Nose: A curious balance of cream, fruits and smoke.
Palate: Quite fat with a sweet stratum of malt hemmed in by some full on oak.
Finish: Chocolate but definite signs of over-ageing.
Comment: A big malt, but there are some flaws suggesting this has passed its best.
Nose: Quick hit of intense syrupy fruit.
Palate: Very pleasant grassy and smoky aspects. Creamy in the middle. Suggestion of white chocolate.
Finish: Quite hot. Ginger cookies.
Comment: More woody and astringent than earlier bottlings at similar ages.
