Nose: Delicate, slightly scented. Hazelnuts.

Palate: Fresh peat, peppery, sharp oak, increasingly dry.

Finish: Slightly woody and overly dry.

Comment: Significantly drier than the other Caol Ilas sampled.

Taster

Nose: Oily. Wood-burning stove. Sweet fruits and dried grasses, nutty oak, chamois leather, macadamia. Quite edgy.

Palate: Sweet to start but dries. Grippy oak, pear, dry grass. Hot tarmac, peat smoke in the distance.

Finish: Long, quite hot. Peat.

Comment: The driest of the bunch.
