Taster

Nose: Crisp and lightly honeyed with barley, malt, apricot and plenty of citrus. A touch of earthy peat and salt. With time the medicinal notes come through along with a touch \nof mocha.

Palate: A little watery with juicy, estery apricot, pineapple and banana. The peat is very gentle and the coastal notes build pleasantly. \n

Finish: Salty and slightly spicy with some dusty violet and the coastal notes lingering.

Comment: I would have liked to have seen this bottled at 46% or 50% as it would have given the palate more intensity.

Taster

Nose: Strong, robust peat; complex, with the aroma of Applewood accompanied by a tang of chutney and an earthy note. Vibrant spice, sea salt and ginger, and honey, before a return to creamy, smoked cheese.

Palate: Rich, well-rounded wood notes with savoury spice and a pleasant, measured peat. Sweetness followed by a flash of salt water and charcoal, and a dry note.\n

Finish: Quieter, but genuine notes of earthy smoke, dry wood, sherry, cocoa, and oatcake. \n

Comment: I enjoyed exploring this whisky, and loved its combination of peat and spice.
