Tasting Notes

Taster

Nose: Floor polish comes out first from this glass, with a rather off-note of dry cork and copper.

Palate: One dimensional with copper, some orange but ultimately a bit like licking a \n9v battery.\n

Finish: Acidy and dry.\n

Comment: Would work in a warmed winter punch for the festive season.

Taster

Nose: Pungent and feinty with lanolin and very young herbal rye. This is barely out of its nappy! With time some nascent toasty oak appears.

Palate: Not quite as pungent and feinty with a touch more oak and corn to balance the oily, raw, herbal rye. The impurities in the spirit begin to build however.\n

Finish: Intense, hot, feinty and herbal.\n

Comment: This should have been given a lot more time in the cask, it’s been bottled far too early and thus it’s very difficult to evaluate because of the impurities that haven’t been removed by the oak.
