One of the most assertive, flavoursome examples of Speyburn I have tasted. A pretty whisky from a pretty distillery.
16 Years Old
Standard (Distillery or blended)
Nose: Herbal notes, becoming sweeter. Heather honey.
Palate: Blossoms first, then fruit. Apricot, orange, raspberry, strawberry.
Finish: Long and lingering, with echoes of all those flowers and fruits.
Comment: One of the most assertive, flavoursome examples of Speyburn I have tasted. A pretty whisky from a pretty distillery.
Nose: Clean and attractive with a light sweetness undiluted. Water brings out a deeper earthy/grassy note and a hint of violet.
Palate: Clean and again quite sweet. Heather. Gentle but with a subtle weight.
Finish: Medium weight. Sultana cake, orange. Juicy.
Comment: Sweet and gentle.
