Nose

What an aroma – as expressive as aromatic white wine – a classic Gewurtztraminer. Big, flowers, spice and a soupcon of soil. Cut oak and dried apricots.

Palate

A light oily film sits atop a puddle. All that Gewurtz character comes through – the white flowers, the spice – before a funky green note. Someone added a handful of sticky hops.

Finish

Hops, flowers and sawdust linger.

Incredibly unusual single malt. Interesting, but not something I could drink in vast quantities. ‘Curiouser and curiouser,’ cried Alice.
