Nose

A warming nose of harvest fruits and burnt brown sugar, like a baked rhubarb and raspberry crumble. Old leather, beeswax, and a touch of tobacco.

Palate

It has a thick mouthfeel with a prickly spice. Flavours like Dr Pepper and root beer, dried apricot, and orange chocolate, with a flash of fruity sourness.

Finish

Long and peppery with sugary cinnamon and sweetened Horlicks, followed by mouth-puckering astringency and a hint of liquorice.

Comment

Almost sickly sweet, but tannins and anise pull it back.
