Nose

Behind the punchy ABV sits some bright orange, wet cardboard, a bit of caraway and cinnamon, toffee, and menthol. With water, a bit more fruit — ripe apples in particular — and honey.

Palate

Fairly sweet and chewy with great spice: lots of nutmeg, cinnamon, clove, and black pepper alongside cherries, almonds, cedar and liquorice.

Finish

Drying with a lingering sweet toffee note.

Comment

A complex and delicious rye that definitely benefits from a dash of water to bring out more fullness and rounded texture.
