Taster

Nose: Fresh apricot, grape juice, elderflower, and sultanas. Cookie dough and green apple. Lemon and lime zest, and malt flour. White chocolate, too.

Palate: Medium-full. Quite punchy at first, but calms a little with water. Lots of green apple, vanilla custard, sponge cake, and the zing of lemon sherbet. Some pear drop.

Finish: Medium, on vanilla and apple cake, then ricotta cheese. Quite drying.

Comment: Fresh and fruity. Opens with water, but mouthnumbingly hot without it.

Score: 7.6

Taster

Nose: Blossom honey, macadamia nut, and cornflake cereal. Raw buttery pastry. Hints of newly planed oak, chicory, and milk chocolate. Lemon and orange sherbet. White pepper. A little melon.

Palate: Medium. Milk chocolate, more honey and macadamia nut, and candied lemon peel. Crème brûlée and fudge with sea salt. Clove and white pepper spice, and a hint of crystallised pineapple.

Finish: Medium, on fudge and peppery warmth.

Comment: Not overly complex, but pleasant to sip. Tropical fruit notes open well with water.
