Taster

Nose: Very similar grassy vanilla profile to other drams of late – sultanas, apricots round it out, with sage, tea, bay leaves, ginger, toffee and some woodiness.

Palate: Aha, it comes to life – vibrancy but woodiness, with a nice oily spirit. Nutmeg and pepper, with some cinnamon, dark chocolate, and coffee. Muscovado sugar and vanilla.

Finish: Short, peppery, sweet and a touch unbalanced.

Comment: Nice enough, but it’s hard to feel too excited about this.

Score: 7.5

Taster

Nose: Light and gentle with a very heady floral perfume note. There is some gentle tropical fruits with mango, pineapple, papaya and pomegranate playing a part. A touch of fresh cut grass.

Palate: A turn away from the nose with huge richness, but that heady floral note comes through still. There's a creaminess, Chantilly cream, vanilla and Tiramisu to it.

Finish: Swift and a little sharp with a touch of menthol and vanilla.

Comment: A nicely balanced dram showing a line between wood and fruit. Good stuff.
