Taster
Nose: Sweet with powdered sugar, then develops into choux pastry with Chantilly cream and apricot jam.
Palate: Vanilla slices, flaky layers of pastry then more cream and chocolate. Plenty of pastries and then a malty edge starts to creep in. Coffee grinds and malt loaf with plum jam.
Finish: Here is where the spices are lurking, sticky cherry jam and slowly fades.
Comment: A gorgeous mixed bag of spices and rich malty notes.
Score: 8.2
Taster
Nose: Floral, sweet and fruity. All served with nuggets of nougat, banoffee pie and wafers. Subtle notes of Playdoh, melted wax Crayolas and homemade lemonade.
Palate: Chocolate-filled nougat, strawberry liquorice and custard-filled brioche. Turmeric cauliflower florets and caramelised pink grapefruit segments with a spicy bitterness.
Finish: Waxy yet creamy notes sticking to the top of the palate. Spices lingering throughout.
Comment: A visit with the kids to the ice cream shop. Crayons included.
Score: 8.8
