Nose

Strawberries and saltwater taffy to begin with, then blackcurrant leaf and vanilla beans. With water there’s some orange blossom and hay.

Palate

Cuts across the whole palate — not as much fruit as expected from the nose; lighter in general but with quite a lot of heat. With water, the texture is great, silky. Some red fruits and brown sugar.

Finish

Fairly lengthy, more so once the water is added and you can get past the spice.

Comment

Not necessarily what I would expect from a single pot still whisky — perhaps a bit more robust than usual.
