Some pleasant touches, but not a great deal to hold it altogether in the end.
That Boutique-y Whisky Company
No age statement
Nose: Cream toffee, frothy creamy coffee with a couple of spoons of brown sugar, hazelnut syrup and a dash of vanilla pod.
Palate: Hmmm. A very strange note to begin with (sort of a very burnt caramel or charred malt) leading into a much more pleasant creaminess, mandarin segments, some chocolate covered fudge notes.
Finish: Short, with lingering vanilla
Comment: Some pleasant touches, but not a great deal to hold it altogether in the end.
Nose: Drying leaves, thyme scented butter, warming copper, tasted marshmallows, a little burning moss, orange flavoured sweets.
Palate: Sweet coconut milk, steamed prawns, caramel bars, herbal sweets, coco butter.
Finish: Sweet with a herbal quality.
Comment: Lovely stuff, time to wake up to decent grain.
