Nose: Solventy notes reminded me of paint stored in a wooden shed. Brown envelopes, raisins and some heavy orange oil. With water it became more herbal with mint toffee and baked apples with honey drizzle.
Palate: Powerful blast of rustic peaty smoke and damp woodiness. Lots of toffee, coffee and leather notes. It curled around your tongue.
Finish: A chewy, polished texture and slightly bitter on the finish.
Comment: This dram took its time to open up but it rewards you in time.

Taster
Nose: Grassy and fruity. A strong note of cider apple and some citrus (fresh lemon). Star anise. A distant vanilla syrup note. Getting sweeter on time with a floral touch. Meadowsweet. Fresh and light.
Palate: Crisp and tangy. A fizzy feel. The same grassy character as on the nose. Lemonade, fizzy apple juice. Even with a yeasty note. Water tends to bring out bitterness.
Finish: Short, with a nutty aftertaste (bitter almond).
Comment: A refreshing dram, which tastes rather young but well knitted. Don’t expect complexity. Just enjoy the liveliness it has.
Score: 7.7
