Bizarre, but strangely likeable if you’re going off piste, for something a little different . If I did shots I’d do it with this!

Tasting Notes

Annabel Meikle

Taster

Nose: Very gin like with juniper and fresh coriander, hyacinth and daffodil. Fresh aniseed. More botanicals with water, herbal like spearmint and eucalyptus notes.

Palate: More of that juniper, but laced with Gomme syrup. Feels like a gin cocktail with some heat. Very green, greengages, sour plums and freshly squeezed lime juice come through.

Finish: Mouth coating, then quite spirity.

Comment: Bizarre, but strangely likeable if you’re going off piste, for something a little different . If I did shots I’d do it with this!

Taster

Nose: Wait a second…That shouldn’t be there…juniper and freshly sawn pine/Christmas tree needles! What? Then a sweet creamy custard note pops up with Indian coconut Burfi sweets.

Palate: Very sweet, but with underlying root liquorice, a slight rubberiness then an oily note emerges.

Finish: A touch of sweetness lingers, but the finish is quite short, with a lingering woody note and linseed oil.

Comment: Proper nutcase stuff. Not my cup of tea, all said and done, but will probably find some fans in the world of grain/corn whisky perhaps?
