Taster
Nose: Toffee sauce, warm earth, red fruits and orange marmalade. Water brings out sherried characteristics, coastal smoke and a mechanics workshop.
Palate: Very drying and rather scorched. A worrying sulphur note. Quite vegetal, it reminded me of roasted parsnips. Ginger heat and walnut oil, a bit dirty.
Finish: Drying and hot.
Comment: The heavier notes make it a bit of a challenge.

Taster
Nose: Grassy. Tangy and sharp. Drying hay, lemon balm. A touch of lemon biscuit. Aniseed. Fresh and invigorating. Getting maltier on time. More biscuit with a dash of water.
Palate: Sweet and mellow at start. Then a sherbet feel and dry spices. Cooked fruit. Keeps sharp.
Finish: Dry, sherbet. Almondy aftertaste.
Comment: A fresh uplifter. But the alcohol bite gives it an excessive sharpness. The cask did not seem to be very active. Water cuts the edges a little.
Score: 7.5
