Nose
A pillowy spice — not as harsh as its North American cousins. Some liquorice and orange, then caramel and nutmeg.
Palate
Bold with a nice spiciness and menthol characteristic. Some sarsaparilla and treacle, rye bread, and bitter liquorice.
Finish
A real root beer note comes through at the end, along with a deep bitter note along the back of the palate.
Comment
An enjoyable iteration of this grain that’s different from others of this style but no less enjoyable.
