A slippery one and difficult to get to grips with, I kept changing my mind.

Nose: Quite elusive but with coaxing came salted lemon, sea spray in your face and crushed herbal notes. Water opened up fresher notes of fresh limes and it retained the saltiness, like drinking pisco sours on the beach.
Palate: Lots of citrus with mandarin and grapefruit segments in a warmed spiced syrup. Light coffee and toffee flavours develop with a hint of balsa wood.
Finish: Hot and grippy, short and fresh.
Comment: A slippery one and difficult to get to grips with, I kept changing my mind.

Nose: Malty, with creamy barley notes, some orange segments, fresh apple juice and icing sugar.
Palate: Tangerine sherbet, a dusting of liquorice and very clean malted barley.
Finish: Light and balanced between the malt and a sharp citrus zest.
Comment: I can see this one making a superb Spritzer style drink, if one so desired.
Score: 8.1
