An unusual aromatic profile, almost medicinal. Not unpleasant, just a bit different.

Nose: Resinous. Pine needles and pine sap. Reminds of cough lozenges. Garden mint. A hint of tar.
Palate: Sweet and silky. The same balsamic profile as on the nose. Sherbety. Slightly numbing.
Finish: Quickly fading. With a light astringency.
Comment: An unusual aromatic profile, almost medicinal. Not unpleasant, just a bit different.
Score: 7.6
Taster
Nose: Very light, with barrel-aged gin notes of vanilla and juniper. Creamy coconut begins to develop, with softer grain notes. Then suddenly, some robust spicy coffee notes develop. A real surprise.
Palate: Maximum sweetness with Golden Syrup, some honeyed breakfast cereal, a \rlittle dusting of powdered liquorice and creamed coconut.
Finish: Sweet and creamy, leaving a terrific mouthcoating oiliness as it subsides.
Comment: Grain whiskies are largely hit and miss, but this one is certainly in the hit camp. Very solid and reliable.
Score: 8.5
