Tasting Notes

Rob Allanson

Taster

Nose: Balsamic vinegar, pickled walnuts and smoked salted cucumber pickles. Very unusual and very acidic. Candyfloss and bacon. Warming blueberry muffins.

Palate: Blood orange, cough syrup, huge sweetness. Hints of bitter wood and there is a heavy sherry or port influence in here. Water brings out more wood notes.

Finish: Short and tannin laden, some hints of clotted cream sweetness.

Comment: More of a liqueur than a whisky, so sweet it almost hurts.

Score: 7.2

Taster

Nose: Hot treacle sponge, rubber tyres and polished copper. Wax crayons, toasted marshmallows and lime zest develop with crushed vanilla pods and Wrigley’s Juicy Fruit.

Palate: Cherries in kirsch syrup, Haribo sours and cremola foam create an interesting dynamic in consistency. Waxy and light with fruit juices of kiwi, crushed red grapes and raspberry purée.

Finish: Rich treacle that quickly disappates into a light yet waxy texture.

Comment: Eating Haribo cherry sours while colouring in with Crayolas.
