Great stuff, very autumnal on the nose, but the building spices are quite something indeed.

Nose: Apple and bramble crumble with lashings of maple syrup and sweet toasted breadcrumbs. Caramel and Oxford marmalade. A gentle smoky note.
Palate: Fig leaf liqueur, then it all goes jammy. Blackberries, raspberries and stewed rhubarb. The spices build up slowly, plenty of vanilla pods. That little smoke edge.
Finish: Bang that’s where the spices are, cinnamon and powdered ginger.
Comment: Great stuff, very autumnal on the nose, but the building spices are quite something indeed.

Taster
Nose: Rich notes of toffee treacle, polished mahogany wood and pickled strawberries. Stewed rhubarb, caramelised bananas and lemon sherbet.
Palate: Bursting with notes of stewed rhubarb, hot cinnamon custard and cherry fruit leather. Dried mango pieces, coconut flakes and resin follow with a double cream finish.
Finish: Textures of leather and creaminess with stewed sour fruits drying the palate.
Comment: A paper bag full to the brim with sweets; rhubarb and custards, flying saucers and liquorice.
Score: 8.7
