Nose

Massively bourbony; a roasty, slightly nutty-sweet, cocoa-dry aroma. Fascinating sub-strata of bamboo shoots and malt. Big and complex.

Palate

Aged from the off: very dry oaky tones and roast malt. Very chewy.

Finish

Sweetens drastically with toffee-vanilla and some fading coffee on the long, tapering finish.

Comment

An enormous whisky which hangs together impressively for its great age.
