Tasting Notes

Dave Broom

Taster

Nose: Floral. American cream soda, fizzy sherbet, lemonade. A little water concentrates the aroma well. Has delicate complexity and a dry edge.

Palate: Fragrant. Icing sugar, elderflower, polished wood. Light and rather fragile.

Finish: Sweet. Grapes dusted with icing sugar.

Comment: Like lace on the palate. Treat carefully.

Score: 7.5

Taster

Nose: Insistent pepper and some malt.

Palate: Some initial smoke, unexpected weightiness, quite mouhtcoating and malty. Pears, mixed spice, and melon - especially when reduced.

Finish: Hot, salt, with oak notes lingering.

Comment: Perhaps 12 years in the cask is slightly too long for most Rosebanks. This does not seem a particularly well-behaved example.
